Linda Cooper is one of our hospice at home nurses. She completed her nurse training as a mature student in the UK in 2003, fulfilling her ambition to become a nurse. Linda worked for 18 months in a large teaching hospital then, following her passion for oncology nursing, joined the Royal Marsden Hospital in 2005. she continued her education and gained her Diploma in Cancer Nursing. Linda worked at the Royal Marsden for 8 1/2 years caring for patients receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy, gaining knowledge and skills in many different cancers, ultimately earning a promotion to senior staff nurse. Linda then moved into the field of palliative care nursing and worked in St Raphael’s Hospice in Surrey, caring for people with life limiting disease. Linda gained the European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care and became experienced in symptom control and end of life care. Linda joined the Cancer Relief team in July 2015, supporting patients and families throughout their cancer journey, treating everyone as an individual, providing advice, support, respite and end of life care. Linda works closely with the GHA palliative care team, district nurses and GPs to provide quality care for all.
